I’ve been in love with Calvin Klein the brand, ever since Brook Shields told me she didn’t wear anything between her tight Calvin’s. Sure, I probably wasn’t born when those commercials came out but I did see it when I got older, and I knew what she was insinuating. Ever since then I’ve been in love with the “controversial” ads CK delivered. From Kate Moss’s skinny ass, walking around naked and looking eternally hungry. To Marky Mark grabbing, he’s baby maker and telling us how snug he’s Calvin briefs were Moreover, let’s not forget those heroin chic ads, that had their models looking strung out, greasy and withdrawing in there CK1 best of course.
I got this sweater which to me felt softer then a bunch of pussy in a basket. At the snobbish Urban Outfitters store at my local mall and I knew I had to shoot it. I found the right model and the right location for this shoot. Sure, these pictures are nothing like the heyday of those ads, that everyone lust, bitched and complained about. However, I wasn’t trying to recreate the past. I was just trying to show my version of what the sweater symbolized to me (If that makes any sense), and from the looks of these pictures. I think that I, and especially my model did a good job at showing off the sweater and more importantly. Showing out the label because at the end of the day, that all the matters.
